“Khalsa Way Prenatal yoga training at Mayaland resort was an extraordinary, multifaceted and expansive experience that went beyond my expectations. The team of instructors led by the incomparable Ghurmuk, created a brilliant balance of spirituality, science and yogic wisdom. They are supported by the Khalsa Way trained teaching assistants and retreat staff, who run the program with great attention to detail and to the needs of the students. The course curriculum gracefully weaves asana, pranayam, mantra and meditation into a Khalsa Way class that you will love teaching to pregnant mama's. It seamlessly creates a container for the woman to feel nurtured, empowered and connected to herself and baby.
After experiencing other prenatal yoga styles, I felt Khalsa Way was in alignment with how I wanted to teach. I had an idea of how I would want to feel and what I would want to experience in a prenatal class and all of those elements were covered and more.
From the first night's dinner to the closing ceremony, I felt honored to be in such Divine Feminine energy. We had an amazing sisterhood of women from all over the world that elevated the training to a sacred remembrance of how we have served women in the past.
Not only is the training fantastic and fun, but the beautiful ancient mayan grounds of the resort seem to expand every experience. Morning sadhana in the thatched open air yoga shala while the sun rises is beyond description. This is followed by a silent meditation walk to the sacred fire where gratitude for the earth, the training and the sisterhood set the tone for the day. This program brings so much more than classroom time to the course. We experienced teaching from a mayan midwife, learned to work with a rebozo, participated in a healing ceremony, had a temazcal or traditional mayan sweat lodge, toured Chitzen Itza, watched Sarah Kamrath's superb docu series and sweat to Wah Khalsa's ecstatic dance! The alchemy of all of it opened our hearts in sisterhood to confidently serve pregnant women with love, wisdom and joy. My deepest pranams to dear Ghurmukiji for blazing this trail of light to serve women and their children. It is a great privilege to be under her tutelage and be trained in all that Khalsa Way prenatal represents.”
